Daniela Thompson S. Martinez é a Head de Propriedade Intelectual da Natura. Com mais de 25 anos de carreira na área, ela se especializou na proteção e aplicação de direitos de PI, além da negociação de transações complexas. Daniela possui LL.M em Propriedade Intelectual pela University of Houston e construiu sua trajetória em empresas de destaque como Dannemann Siemsen, John Deere e Kimberly-Clark. Sua atuação se estende à participação no Comitê de PI da ANPEI e como conselheira no CONAR.

Daniela Thompson S. Martinez is the Head of Intellectual Property at Natura. With over 25 years of experience in the field, she has specialized in the protection and enforcement of IP rights, as well as in the negotiation of complex transactions. Daniela holds an LL.M. in Intellectual Property from the University of Houston and has built her career at prominent organizations such as Dannemann Siemsen, John Deere, and Kimberly-Clark. She also serves on the Intellectual Property Committee of ANPEI – Brazil’s National Association for Research and Development of Innovative Companies – and is a board member at CONAR – Brazil’s Advertising Self-Regulation Council.

Etienne Sanz de Acedo é CEO da International Trademark Association (INTA) e da INTA Foundation. Ele é uma figura de destaque no campo da propriedade intelectual (PI), reconhecido por especialistas e colegas por sua abordagem visionária em relação às políticas de PI.

O executivo ingressou na INTA em julho de 2013. Ele é conhecido por liderar a Associação e seus membros em meio a diversos desafios, incluindo as disrupções causadas por tecnologias emergentes e pela pandemia de COVID-19, além de promover a colaboração global em torno das questões-chave enfrentadas pelos proprietários de marcas em um mercado em constante evolução. Etienne Sanz de Acedo is CEO of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and of the INTA Foundation. He is a prominent figure in the intellectual property (IP) field, recognized by experts and peers for his forward-thinking approach to IP policy.
Mr. Sanz de Acedo joined INTA in July 2013. He is known for leading the Association and its members through several challenges, including disruptions posed emerging technologies and the COVID-19 pandemic, and for fostering global collaboration around the key issues facing brand owners in an ever-evolving marketplace. He frequently discusses the challenges and
opportunities presented by new technologies, including artificial intelligence, blockchain, and the metaverse, advocating for the adaptation of IP laws to keep pace with these advancements. Presenting IP as a revenue-generating resource, and not simply a cost center, Mr. Sanz de Acedo has highlighted the importance of integrating IP into business strategies. He encourages entrepreneurs to incorporate IP considerations early in their business plans and to leverage
tools for effective IP portfolio management. He also stresses the need for policymakers to better understand the value of IP, particularly its contributions to national economies, research and development, and social welfare.
Mr. Sanz de Acedo has been commended for his focus on belonging and inclusion within the IP community, as well as his efforts to engage small and medium-sized enterprises in IP discussions. In speeches and interviews, he often emphasizes the evolving landscape of IP and its critical role in the global economy.
His insights reflect a visionary perspective on IP and a desire to harmonize international
standards while also addressing the ethical considerations of the times.
In his role as INTA CEO, Mr. Sanz de Acedo works with the Board of Directors and Officers to recommend, formulate, and implement policies and programs for the Association; is responsible for the administrative operation of the Association’s offices and the supervision of all staff; and is responsible for the development and administration of the annual budget.
Before joining INTA, Mr. Sanz de Acedo was Head of Communications and Member of the President’s Cabinet at the European Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), the EU’s intellectual property agency, where he was responsible for strategic communications and the agency’s corporate image and identity.
Before joining the EUIPO, he practiced as an attorney in Spain and taught law at the University of Alicante, Spain.
Mr. Sanz de Acedo holds a law degree from the University of Alicante, an LLM in European Community Law from the Université Libre de Bruxelles in Belgium, and an executive MBA from Instituto de Empresa Business School in Madrid. A Spanish and French national, he speaks English, French, Italian, and Spanish.

Gustavo Freitas Lobo Novis é graduado em Direito pela Faculdade Nacional de Direito da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro e possui pós-graduação lato sensu em Direito Constitucional pela Universidade Anhanguera Uniderp. Atua como Tecnologista em Propriedade Industrial no Instituto Nacional da Propriedade Industrial (INPI) desde 2013.

No INPI, exerceu a função de Chefe Substituto de Divisão de Exame Técnico de Marcas entre 2017 e 2019 e foi Chefe de Divisão de Exame Técnico de Marcas em 2022. Participou do Grupo de Trabalho do Protocolo de Madri de 2017 a 2021, contribuindo para a implementação e aprimoramento do sistema internacional de registro de marcas no Brasil. Entre 2023 e 2025, atuou como Coordenador-Geral do Protocolo de Madri e, em 2025, assumiu a Coordenação-Geral de Desenhos Industriais, Indicações Geográficas e Protocolo de Madri no INPI.

Possui experiência consolidada em propriedade industrial, com ênfase em marcas, desenhos industriais, indicações geográficas e tratados internacionais, destacando-se pela atuação em projetos estratégicos e em grupos de trabalho voltados à modernização dos processos de registro e proteção de ativos intangíveis no INPI.

Gustavo Freitas Lobo Novis holds a Law degree from the National Law School of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and a postgraduate degree (lato sensu) in Constitutional Law from Universidade Anhanguera Uniderp. He has served as an Industrial Property Technologist at the Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office (BPTO/INPI) since 2013.

At the BPTO, he held the position of Deputy Head of the Trademark Examination Division from 2017 to 2019 and was Head of the same division in 2022. From 2017 to 2021, he was a member of the Madrid Protocol Working Group, contributing to the implementation and enhancement of the international trademark registration system in Brazil. Between 2023 and 2025, he served as General Coordinator for the Madrid Protocol and, in 2025, took on the role of General Coordinator for Industrial Designs, Geographical Indications, and the Madrid Protocol.

He has solid experience in industrial property, with a focus on trademarks, industrial designs, geographical indications, and international treaties. He is recognized for his involvement in strategic projects and working groups dedicated to modernizing the registration and protection processes of intangible assets at the BPTO.

Júlio César Castelo Branco Reis Moreira, presidente do Instituto Nacional da Propriedade Industrial (INPI), é graduado em Engenharia Química pela Universidade Federal da Bahia (1990), mestre em Ciências e Engenharia de Petróleo pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas (1993) e doutor em Tecnologia de Processos Químicos e Bioquímicos pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (2006). Desde 1998, é pesquisador em Propriedade Industrial do INPI. Atuou como diretor de Patentes de junho de 2011 a junho de 2018. Possui experiência em Propriedade Intelectual, especificamente na área de patentes e em Engenharia de Petróleo, tendo atuado como pesquisador autônomo no Centro de Pesquisas da Petrobras (CENPES), principalmente nos seguintes temas: modelagem termodinâmica, depósitos orgânicos e equilíbrio de fases.

Loreto Bresky, advogada chilena dedicada, atua como Diretora Sênior no Departamento Jurídico e de Assuntos Internacionais do PCT da Organização Mundial da Propriedade Intelectual (OMPI). Este departamento é responsável pelo desenvolvimento do PCT como o eixo central do sistema internacional de patentes, além de prestar suporte aos usuários do sistema PCT, incluindo os Estados-membros, a comunidade de usuários, bem como organizações intergovernamentais e não governamentais.

Antes de ingressar na OMPI, Loreto ocupou o cargo de Diretora-Geral do Instituto Nacional de Propriedade Industrial do Chile (INAPI) por cinco anos. Sua ampla experiência no setor privado se estende por mais de duas décadas, período em que atuou em dois escritórios de advocacia de grande destaque.

O comprometimento de Loreto com sua área vai além de suas funções profissionais. Ela integrou o Conselho da Associação Chilena de Propriedade Intelectual (ACHIPI), da Fundação Pro Bono e da Fundação ChileMujeres. Sua participação ativa na Ordem dos Advogados do Chile reforça seu compromisso em gerar impacto positivo em prol da sociedade.

Loreto é especialista em contencioso de propriedade intelectual, concorrência desleal, direito da concorrência (antitruste) e contratos de licenciamento.

Loreto Bresky, a dedicated Chilean lawyer, serves as Senior Director in the PCT Legal and International Affairs Department, World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).  The Department is responsible for the development of PCT as the central node of the international patent system and for supporting PCT system stakeholders, including Member States, the user community, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations.

Prior to joining WIPO, Loreto held the position of Director General of the Chilean IP Office for five years.  Her extensive experience in the private sector spans over two decades, during which she worked with two prominent law firms. 

Loreto’s dedication to her field extends beyond her professional roles.  She has served on the Board of the Chilean IP Association ACHIPI, the Pro Bono Foundation, and the ChileMujeres Foundation.  Her active involvement with the Chilean Bar Association further demonstrates her dedication to making an impact for the benefit of society.

Loreto’s expertise lies in IP litigation, unfair competition, antitrust law, and licensing matters.

Noam Shemtov é professor de Propriedade Intelectual e Direito da Tecnologia e Diretor Adjunto do CCLS (Centro de Estudos de Direito Comercial) da Queen Mary University of London, Shemtov  liderou projetos de pesquisa e estudos financiados por Conselhos de Pesquisa do Reino Unido e por organizações como CreativeWorks London, CISAC, Microsoft, OMPI, Escritório Europeu de Patentes, Ministério das Relações Exteriores e da Commonwealth (FCO), Departamento para o Desenvolvimento Internacional do Reino Unido (DFID) e Agência Espacial Europeia.

 Shemtov também atua como professor visitante em universidades espanholas e holandesas, onde leciona regularmente em áreas relacionadas à propriedade intelectual, indústrias criativas e tecnologia. Ele é advogado qualificado no Reino Unido e em Israel.

O Dr. Ralph Nack é sócio do escritório Noerr, na Alemanha. Atualmente, Ralph ocupa o cargo de Reporter General da AIPPI e integra o Bureau da entidade desde 2014.

Sua atuação é voltada para litígios e licenciamento de patentes, bem como disputas envolvendo segredos comerciais. Possui expertise destacada em litígios relacionados a patentes essenciais a padrões (SEPs) e questões de licenciamento FRAND. Também presta assessoria contenciosa e consultiva no setor de ciências da vida, especialmente no que se refere a medicamentos biológicos e dispositivos médicos.

Além disso, Ralph conduz transações de propriedade intelectual de grande relevância e projetos de liberdade de operação, particularmente em contextos de fusões e aquisições (M&A) e venture capital (VC).

Estudou Direito em Heidelberg, Munique, Washington D.C. (George Washington University) e Tóquio (Universidade de Tóquio – Todai). É ex-aluno do Instituto Max Planck de Propriedade Intelectual e foi agraciado com a Medalha Otto Hahn da Sociedade Max Planck, em reconhecimento à sua produção científica.

Dr. Ralph Nack is a Partner with Noerr in Germany. Ralph is the current Reporter General of AIPPI and has been a member of the AIPPI Bureau since 2014.His practice is directed towards patent litigation and licensing, as well as trade secret litigation. He has particular expertise in litigating standard-essential patent (SEPs) and issues of FRAND licensing. His practice further covers litigious and non-litigious advice in the life science sector, in particular regarding biologics and medical devices. Further, he handles high profile IP transactions and freedom-to-operate projects, in particular in connection with M&A and VC matters. Ralph studied law in Heidelberg, Munich, Washington DC (George Washington University) and Tokyo (Todai University). He is an alumnus of the Max Planck Institute for Intellectual Property and was awarded the Otto Hahn Medal of the Max Planck Society for his scientific work.

Ryan Abbott, MD, JD, PhD, is partner at the U.S. law firm Brown, Neri, Smith & Khan, LLP, where his practice focuses on dispute resolution in the life science and information technology industries. He is an experienced trial and appellate attorney, having appeared as an advocate and lead counsel in numerous U.S. state and federal courts as well as in foreign courts, including the UK Supreme Court, and in arbitration proceedings.

Ryan has managed numerous contentious matters ranging from high value commercial disputes between large entities, to patent litigation and litigation involving complex technologies such as cryptocurrencies and decentralized finance platforms, to disputes involving wrongful termination and wrongful death. Ryan has also managed the leading cases seeking to obtain patent protection for AI-generated inventions, and copyright protection for AI-generated and AI-assisted works.

Outside of the firm, Ryan is Professor of Law and Health Sciences at the University of Surrey and Adjunct Associate Professor of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at University of California, Los Angeles. He is the author of numerous publications including The Reasonable Robot: Artificial Intelligence and the Law (CUP 2020).

Fora do escritório, Ryan é Professor de Direito e Ciências da Saúde na Universidade de Surrey e Professor Associado Adjunto de Medicina na David Geffen School of Medicine da Universidade da Califórnia, em Los Angeles (UCLA).
